The Beckoning Point Submarine Demagnetizing Facility at Pearl Harbor was built to replace the Navy’s original piers with a modernized, expanded system capable of supporting the latest Virginia-class submarines. The project scope included dredging a new pier location and approach area, fabricating and installing 173 non-magnetic concrete piles, constructing an access pier and dual 700-foot parallel piers, and installing a truss-supported high-voltage cabling system used to reset submarine magnetic signatures. The facility enhances naval readiness by ensuring submarines maintain low detectability against mines, ships, and aircraft.
Project was completed by Denny Watts while CEO/ President of Watts-Healy Tibbitts.
